Which thermal imaging lens is best for our department?

*NOTE that these lenses are NOT interchangeable as it will be permanently installed on the camera
Digital zoom for the 336 camera is 4X
Digital zoom for the 640 camera is 8X
The lower the lens sizes have a wider FOV (field of view).
The 6.8 mm lens on the 336 camera equals a wide 49° field of view.
The 7.5 mm lens on the 640 camera equals a wide 90° field of view.
The 19 mm lens on the 336 camera equals a narrow 17 ° field of view.
The 7.5 mm lens on the 640 camera equals a wide 90° field of view.
The 19 mm lens on the 640 camera equals a narrow 32° field of view.
The 336 offers 4X digital zoom, and the 640 offers 8X digital zoom.

90% of law enforcement agencies and fire departments have purchased the 19mm lens as it shows more detail when flying around 200 ft. If a 7.5 was used, the pilot in command may not be able to decifer between an animal, victim or suspect carrying a weapon.

See Lens comparison video below.

Why consider a FLIR Thermal Imaging UAV for your department?
*Easier and safer to deploy an inexpensive UAV.
*Identify threats with high-resolution, FLIR thermal, and night-vision capabilities.
*Find suspects or victims faster without putting officers in danger.
*Search large areas in minutes instead of hours.
*Use cases include evidence detection, suspect/fugitive tracking, scene assessment during standoffs or hostage situations.
*Crime scene preservation and recreation using 3D mapping and imaging technology.
*Accident scene assessment, traffic management, and crowd surveillance.
*Storm recovery/damage assessments, evaluating road conditions, and coordinating resources during natural disasters.
*Autonomous flight.

The Zenmuse XT is a must have for Hazmat Incidents, Train Derailments, Missing persons, Fugitives on foot, Large scale fire operations and much more. Contact us today for a quote. Financing options are available.

Resolution - 336 x 256 or 640 x 512 640 costs more but is recommended for detail of subjects or victims. The 336 works very well up close, but if you are scanning an area from a few hundred feet in the air, the 640 will produce much better detail, whereas the 336 would have a less sharper image.
